While many can read and learn about Rapa Nui\u2019s intriguing archaeology and majestic moa<\/i>i statues, not much is known about the island\u2019s student population.<\/strong> As a result, Student Voices <\/i>was created with the intention of providing our English language (EL) learners with a safe, productive, academically-oriented online platform where their ideas are published and a discussion forum centered around important issues is generated.<\/p>\n

As such, Student Voices<\/i> aims to be a supportive space allowing for EL learners to strengthen writing skills, build self-confidence, and engage in productive conversation. In addition, this online tool is designed to support critical thinking skills and teach the importance of forming educated, informed opinions.<\/p>\n

As educators, we work diligently to create outlets and opportunities for our students to connect with individuals from other countries and cultures. Thus, it is our hope that this online platform acts as a bridge between the island\u2019s students and the international community and whereby positive rapport and constructive feedback is established.<\/p>\n

We hope you enjoy these student-written articles, and we welcome all comments that support critical thinking, self-reflection, awareness, and academic growth.<\/p>\n
